MUNCIE — The weight of missed shots hung on Sean Sellers in practice.
He was distracted, maybe worried that a bad shot could mean more time on the bench. Maybe Sellers just wanted to get a better look at the next shot. Either way, he wasn’t focused.
“He was flustered,” head coach James Whitford said. “It impacts your ability to be engaged in the moment. Maybe you don’t run back as hard because you’re more consumed with something else.”
But that was early this season, before Ball State got on a roll. Now, Whitford says Sellers — the sophomore following up a Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year season — is practicing better than ever.
