MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Ball State found itself on the wrong end of a pitchers' duel Saturday, falling 5-0 at Central Michigan.
and Central's Cameron Brown were each good enough to win. Baker threw 6 shutout innings with 7 strikeouts, demonstrating a bend-but-don't break mentality and making big pitches when needed. CMU got 10 baserunners against Baker, but each time the Chippewas threatened Baker closed the door on them.
Unfortunately for Ball State, CMU's Brown was up to the task. He went 7.2 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7. Only one baserunner got to 3rd base against Brown, who improved to 6-0 on the year.
