MUNCIE, Ind. — High school girls basketball teams are spending this week fine-tuning their games before sectionals begin next week.
Two local teams were sharp Wednesday night and look ready for postseason play, while the Ball State women's basketball team earned a Mid-American Conference victory. Here are Wednesday's results:
Central 85, Burris 53
The Bearcats knocked down a season-high 14 3-pointers. Da'Koyta Sloss hit five of them, and she finished with 33 points. Central (4-17), which led 24-8 after one quarter, had three others in double figures: Sayla McIntosh (20 points, including six 3-pointers), Ayala Wilson (11 points on three 3-pointers) and Riley Stafford (10 points).
