CLEVELAND - - After a record-breaking week, Ball State softball senior closer Alyssa Rothwell will end her career as the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week.
A three-time career honoree, Rothwell earns the award after becoming the greatest closer in NCAA Division I softball history with her record-setting 33rd career save in last Friday's 6-3 victory at Buffalo.
In one of her most impressive performances of the season, Rothwell struck out five of the seven batters she faced over the 2.0 inning save, including getting the final batter of the game looking.
However, it was just one of four solid appearances for Rothwell who finished the week with a 1.
