Riley Neal could be headed for an extended absence

MUNCIE, Ind. — Riley Neal's season is up in the air as a leg injury could keep him sidelined for the foreseeable future.

While Ball State head coach Mike Neu did not rule out that his junior quarterback would return this season, when asked if he was facing an extended absence, Neu responded, "That's a fair question. And I don’t know that."

After starting the first three games of the season and practicing the first few days of last week, the Cardinals suddenly ruled him out Thursday with a leg injury and told fifth-year senior Jack Milas that he was the starting quarterback.
