MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State's Rich Maloney picked up his 900th career coaching win this weekend at Northern Illinois.
The longtime head baseball coach picked up win No. 900 as Ball State defeated Northern Illinois 6-1 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday. The Cardinals also defeated the Huskies 13-0 in the first game and 9-5 on Sunday.
Maloney has been a head coach since 1996. He began his career at Ball State (1996-2002) before going to Michigan (2003-12) then deciding to come back to Ball State (2013-present).
Of his 901 wins, as of Monday morning, 341 of them came during his time at Michigan, 560 of them came while he led Ball State.
