Report: Ball State coach Pete Lembo resigning for job at Maryland

Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo is resigning to take an assistant coaching job at Maryland, according to a report Tuesday from Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.

Lembo, who just completed his fifth year as head coach in Muncie, led the Cardinals to a 3-9 record in 2015. It was Ball State's worst record during his tenure.

He has a 33-29 (23-17 Mid-American Conference) career record at Ball State, but the team has a combined record of 8-16 over the past two seasons.

According to the report, "Lembo decided to make the move after dealing with frustration after years leading one of the most under-resourced programs in the MAC.
