WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Ball State men's basketball team trailed by just one after halftime at No. 24/22 Purdue, but a 19-2 run in the second half fueled the Boilermakers to an 84-75 win Saturday night at Mackey Arena.
Tayler Persons led the way for BSU (1-1) in scoring and rebounding with 19 and eight. Persons' 19 points all came in the first half. K.J. Walton was the only other Cardinal in double digits with 13, while Kyle Mallers, Tahjai Teague and Ishmael El-Amin had eight apiece.
