The Purdue Boilermakers are the highest-seeded team remaining in the Big Ten basketball tournament. They play Michigan State on Saturday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
No. 3 Boilers (26-6) held off Penn State late Friday behind Jaden Ivey (17 points), Zach Edey (15) and welcome return to form by Brandon Newman (12).
No. 7 Michigan State (22-11) defeated Wisconsin on Friday night to advance to the semifinals. Marcus Bingham Jr. led the Spartans with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Tyson Walker added 11 points.
MSU defeated Purdue late in the regular season on Walker's 3-pointer in the closing seconds.
