'Playing with pride': Muncie Central baseball turns page on terrible 2021 season

MUNCIE, Ind. — Twenty losses, 17 by run rule. That was the state of Muncie Central baseball in 2021.

The program deteriorated every season since 2015, and last year was rock bottom. The Bearcats have 14 sectional, four regional and one semistate title in their history, yet became almost a guaranteed victory for opponents.

Several other Central sports were suffering as well. New Athletic Director Jeff Halloway sought to change that fact, and on the diamond, he chose swimming coach Jason Kubick to turn Bearcat baseball around.
