Ball State head coach Pete Lembo has resigned to take a job at Maryland as an assistant head coach/special teams coordinator, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Fox Sports earlier reported news of Lembo's move.
Among the reasons for Lembo's departure from Ball State are the impressiveness of Maryland's new head coach D.J. Durkin and Ball State's status as one of the least-funded programs in the MAC, sources told McMurphy.
