YORKTOWN, Ind. — A 5-2 loss against New Palestine Tuesday night wasn't the result Yorktown baseball wanted. But, being that it was Yorktown's first defeat of the season, it was one it could live with.
Yorktown started off the 2022 season with a pair of sweeps of Delta and Pendleton Heights. The Tigers' 4-1 record in Hoosier Heritage Conference play is already better than the record they had in 2019 — when they advanced to the Class 3A semistate game — and a few wins short of the 7-7 conference record they had a season ago.
But Yorktown isn't thinking too far ahead.
