Notes: Local player makes all-state, 5 more get honorable mention

MUNCIE, Ind. — One local player was named first team all-state by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association, and several others made honorable mention.

Ryan Hale, the senior centerfielder of the Class A state champion Daleville Broncos, was the lone local representative on the IHSBCA all-state teams. Hale finished the season with a .371 batting average, five homers and 36 RBIs. He drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning of the state final against University.

The honor caps off a solid high school career for Hale, who will attend Huntington University to play baseball.
