MUNCIE, Ind. — The Ball State baseball team may just sweep the entire state of Indiana this season.

The Cardinals have an early start on being the unofficial state champion after they beat Purdue 6-0 on Tuesday.

Ball State is now 4-0 against in-state teams, with two wins against Notre Dame and another against Purdue Fort Wayne. It has in-state games remaining against Purdue Fort Wayne (Wednesday), Valparaiso (March 27), Butler (April 9), at Indiana (April 16), Indiana (April 23 at Victory Field) and at Purdue (May 7).

Mid-week games are unique because teams typically reserve their starting pitchers for weekend conference games.
