MUNCIE, Ind. — If there was any prevailing theme from Tuesday’s double-overtime loss to Eastern Michigan, it was that the Ball State basketball team regrets the result, but not the strategy that led to the team’s first loss in five games.
James Whitford and company made several late-game decisions that did not go in Ball State’s favor and ultimately cost them in an 84-82 defeat.
For one, Ball State continually fed Trey Moses the basketball in the high post against Eastern Michigan’s zone, and he attacked relentlessly. Moses had a terrific game in many respects – he joined the 1,000-point club and tallied 16 points, 10 assists and five rebounds – but it is his free-throw shooting that fans will remember from this game.
