FLORA, Ind. — Go ahead, count the Cowan Blackhawks out. Doubt them, overlook them.
At this point, Cowan (15-13) is used to it. It doesn't matter that no one expected a team that was 11-13 coming into the postseason to win a sectional or that the Blackhawks had to play the sixth-ranked Class A team in the regional title.
Because here they stand. In Aaron Wells' first year as the head coach at his alma mater, Cowan is headed to the semistate after its 9-3 win over Riverton Parke (22-10) in the regional championship game.
