HONOLULU -- Ball State had moments early and made some runs at No. 22 Washington, but a pair of projected NBA first-round picks helped a hot-shooting Huskies team pull away for an 85-64 win on the opening day of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.
Jaden McDaniels scored a game-high 22 points for Washington, while fellow freshman Isaiah Stewart scored 19 and grabbed 10 rebounds. Both were top-10 national recruits, and both are potential lottery picks next summer.
Tahjai Teague led Ball State with 20 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
