MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State men's volleyball is making it look easy.
In the first round of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) tournament on Saturday, the No. 1 seeded Cardinals (19-8) swept No. 8 Quincy (8-19) 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 in Worthen Arena to advance to the semifinals.
It marked BSU's seventh straight victory and the third consecutive season in which the team's won at least one postseason game. Ball State now turns its attention to No. 4 Lewis (17-12) for next round's matchup in Muncie at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19.
Head coach Donan Cruz said near the end of the regular season that his squad was peaking at the right time, but with a week off before the start of postseason play, he wondered if the Cardinals might lose some of their momentum.
