INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The 2023 IHSAA state wrestling finals was represented well by East Central Indiana, which had 16 wrestlers compete on Friday and eight kids make the podium in their respective weight classes on Saturday, including 126-pound state champion Tylin Thrine of New Castle.
Friday's preliminaries began with victories from Delta’s Ayden Bollinger (106 pounds) and Neal Mosier (120 pounds). Cowan’s Jackson Bradley and Tylin were able to secure victories in the 126-pound weight class. In the 138-pound weight class, two more area wrestlers were able to lock up victories: Jay County’s Tony Wood and New Castle’s Gavyn Whitehead.
