LAFAYETTE, Ind. — New Castle's dream season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as the top-ranked Trojans were defeated 65-60 by Culver Military Academies at the Lafayette Jeff semistate.
The Trojans end the season 27-3. They were ranked No. 1 in Class 3A for most of the season, set a program record for wins and captured the program's first sectional title since 2008 and regional crown since 2006.
Luke Bumbalough poured in 29 points (7-12 3-pointers) while Mason Gillis added 23 points and five boards.
