CARMEL, Ind. — If Derek Tabor felt nervous entering the last nine holes of his high school career, he certainly didn't show it.
The New Castle senior began the final round of the IHSAA boys golf state finals tied for 14th place. He shot a 76 on Tuesday, five strokes behind the leader as the temperature at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel approached 100 degrees.
Tabor then rebounded with a 67 in the slightly-cooler Wednesday round, tied for the best score of the day as he shot four under par on the back nine holes to finish tied for third place.
