NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Monday night's practice ended with each player on New Castle's girls basketball team taking shots around the perimeter.
Senior Cloie York, juniors Macayla McGowan and Mackenzie Bridgeman, sophomores Karsen Morgan and Maddy Meek along with others took 15-plus-foot shots in succession. More often than not, their shots went in as the basketballs echoed each time they hit the floor underneath the hoop in an empty New Castle Fieldhouse.
Each of them know their roles will be elevated this season with the graduation of the program's all-time leading scorer and Indiana All-Star Cameron Tabor, who averaged 24 points per game last season and finished her career with 1,668 points in a Trojans uniform.
