NEW CASTLE, Ind. — New Castle was never going to go away, that much was clear.
While the Trojans' only lead against Noblesville came in the first quarter of Friday night's contest, New Castle never let the visiting Millers get comfortable with their lead. Even when Noblesville extended its advantage to 10 points midway through the third quarter, New Castle battled right back.
That fight started with New Castle junior guard Trey Miller, who scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half. It ended with senior guard Cole McDaniel, who scored 12 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter, along with sophomore Gavin Welch, who scored all seven of his points in the second half.
