KOKOMO, Ind. — Despite the run-rule loss, head coach Josh Cooper was upbeat.
New Castle baseball's 12-1 semistate defeat to Andrean wasn't pretty, yet plenty of Trojans parents and players wore smiles as they exited Kokomo Municipal Stadium on Saturday. Cooper made sure they didn't hang their heads, but rather focus on the thrilling journey.
It had to end sometime.
"The community came around us. The better we did, the more people showed up ... Every day I got 'Thank you' and 'We're proud of you. We're rooting for you,'" coach Cooper said. "The Little League in our town canceled games today so that young kids could watch us play, coaches could come and watch us play.
