As the Ironman 70.3 Muncie approaches its first sellout event, volunteer director Molly Day is looking for help for the race's swimming portion.
A Facebook post Tuesday afternoon urged those still interested in registering to do so quickly, as just 20 spots remain in the Ironman Muncie's sixth running. Last year's record 1,979 competitors, Day said, will most definitely be surpassed this year.
And with a likely historic number of entries comes a need for extra help.
"We'll take volunteers right up until the day of," Day said. An online portal is set up where those interested can quickly get through the process and fill out the necessary waiver before race day.
