MUNCIE, Ind. — American Legion baseball has been a staple summer pastime in communities across the country since 1925.
Throughout the league’s near 100-year history, baseball icons like Yogi Berra and Ted Williams — along with dozens of other Hall of Fame talents — have represented posts on the diamond, according to the American Legion.
Legion baseball has been the preferred summer league for many East Central Indiana 19-and-under players since the first local team was assembled in 1928, and the Muncie Post 19 Chiefs are looking to continue that legacy in 2023.
