MUNCIE, Ind. — The beginning of the resurrection of the Muncie Post 19 Chiefs was last summer in Fort Wayne. Ken Zvokel was there for a travel baseball tournament and attended a Tin Caps game. Zvokel ran into Dennis Conwell, a former Chiefs assistant.
Conwell told Zvokel how much fun he had getting the team going again in 2015 after a two-year hiatus and that he should look into coaching the team. Morris McCreery, the previous coach, died last May, and there was no team last summer. The coach before McCreery was Bobby Graves, and he died in 2013 after coaching the Chiefs for 19 seasons.
