FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Muncie Central boys basketball team left Wayne High School on Wednesday night with the belief that it can capture Delaware County's first sectional championship since 2014, when the Bearcats last won one.
And no, it has nothing to do with the fact that Class 4A No. 9 Homestead, the five-time defending sectional champion, was upset in the opening round on Tuesday.
Central did more than enough Wednesday to reaffirm that it has the capability to win this sectional as it cruised to a 58-42 win over Columbia City.
