MUNCIE, Ind. — Phenom 765, a Muncie-based AAU program, sent three boys basketball teams down to the U.S. Amateur Boys National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee, last weekend.
It returned with a pair of national championships and a runner-up finish.
The Phenom 2027, who competed in the seventh-grade division — the second-largest division — went 3-2 overall and won its championship 66-59. The Phenom 2028, who competed in the sixth-grade division, went undefeated (5-0) and beat a ranked Florida Aces team 54-51 in the championship. The Phenom 2029, who competed in the fifth-grade division, finished as runner-ups in their division.
