MUNCIE, Ind. – Thirty-eight national championships. Two hundred seventy-nine All-Americans. Six hundred fifteen athletes and 125 coaches elevated to the collegiate ranks.
The Munciana Volleyball club has become a staple on the local, state and national sports scenes in recent decades, and its 50th anniversary was celebrated during No. 10 Ball State men's volleyball's highly-anticipated match against No. 12 Ohio State on Wednesday.
A sea of athletes representing multiple generations attended the match, with many sticking around after the final point was earned to see one man: Steve Shondell, the founder of Munciana.
