PARKER CITY, Ind. — Monroe Central's road football game against Union City has been canceled due to an assistant coach on the varsity team testing positive for COVID-19.
Friday's announcement came just hours before kickoff. The Monroe Central School district released this statement regarding the case:
"Monroe Central School Corporation received information this afternoon that a member of our Varsity Football coaching staff tested positive for COVID-19. Working with the Randolph County Health Department we have completed our contract tracing and all students and staff impacted have been notified and asked to self quarantine for 14 days.
