PARKER CITY, Ind. — For the second time this season, Monroe Central's Joel Kennedy was named The Star Press football Player of the Week.
In a Mid-Eastern Conference clinching win over Shenandoah, the senior running back ran r a season-high four touchdowns off 10 carries for 86 rushing yards.
This season, Kennedy has 936 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns off 111 carries for the unbeaten and No. 2-ranked Monroe Central Golden Bears.
Behind Kennedy in the Week 9 voting was New Castle's Kyle Gabbard, who caught six passes for 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns to go along with 82 kick return yards.
