PARKER CITY, Ind. — With 7.2 seconds left in the game and Monroe Central up 11 points, Hannah Bolton usually wouldn't have been nervous heading to the free throw line.
But this trip was different. An assistant coach had told her how close she was from breaking the program's all-time scoring record, so she knew those two shots would likely be her last chance to surpass the record Wednesday night.
As she went to the line, the gym went quiet. Several onlookers had their hands on their heads as her first shot hit the front of the rim and then ricocheted off the backboard before falling in.
