MUNCIE, Ind. — No, Ball State (5-5, 3-3 MAC) won't repeat as Mid-American Conference champions this season.
But the Cardinals, who are just one win away from bowl eligibility, still have the chance to reach back-to-back bowl games for just the fourth time in program history. Prior to last season's Arizona Bowl victory, no Ball State team had ever won a bowl game, let alone two in back-to-back seasons.
This week, Ball State welcomes in a Central Michigan (6-4, 4-2 MAC) squad that has an outside shot of winning the MAC West Division if Northern Illinois (7-3, 5-1 MAC) loses its final two games.
