Anthony Shalakov and Mason Tran started doubles play with a 6-2 win over the Vikings' Cole Chappell and Ty Rothchild on court No. 3 to give BSU the upper hand. The top two courts were competitive, but Cleveland State would win both by a 6-4 decision to take the doubles point from Ball State.
In singles, Cleveland State took three of the six courts from Ball State.
