MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (14-9, 3-3 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference action this weekend with a 5-2 win over Binghamton (5-17, 1-7 MAC) Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
The Cardinals took the doubles point from Bearcats but it wasn't easy, as the No. 1 doubles tandem of Nemanja Guzina and Collin Rigney would lose their match 6-2. Ball State had went ahead early on courts two and three taking an impressive 4-1 lead but Binghamton would fight back to knot both matches, 4-4. The remainder of the competition would be tight but Marko Guzina and Conner Andersen won 7-6 (5) at the number two position over Alejandro Pena and Inigo Saez to even doubles play.
