MUNCIE, Ind. — Nothing about the 2020 fall high school sports season has been normal.
COVID-19 brought uncertainty to whether high school sports would be played at all. Some state athletic associations across the country decided to cancel their respective fall seasons, as Indiana had done in the spring. That uncertainty, whether it was discussed or not, never left the minds of the athletes, coaches, parents, administrators or anyone else close to high school sports.
Throughout the season East Central Indiana saw competitions canceled, some just a few hours before they were scheduled to begin. Teams were forced to quarantine for weeks at a time and large invitationals didn't come with the same excitement as they had in the past.
