NASHVILLE -- The Ball State men's basketball team overcame an early 20-3 deficit and 31 turnovers to outlast Tennessee State 78-73 in double overtime Tuesday night in the opening round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).
The Cardinals (20-13) accomplished two things they had not done since the 2001-02 season: reach 20 wins and win a postseason game.
Jeremie Tyler led Ball State with 25 points, while Ryan Weber had 20 and drilled six second-half 3-pointers. Trey Moses logged his first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
The Cardinals will learn their next opponent in the tournament after the conclusion of the first round Wednesday night.
