MUNCIE, Ind. — The way Drew Plitt sees it, although he and some of his fellow Ball State football teammates had individual decisions to make, he thought one person deciding to return would have a domino effect on the rest.
Plitt, the Cardinals’ redshirt senior quarterback in 2020, was one of 22 athletes on BSU’s roster who faced the choice of coming back to the program for an extra year. After the NCAA’s ruling that provided fall athletes with an additional year of eligibility, everyone knew that moment would come. And while Plitt did his best to focus on the season and the season alone this fall, after Ball State won the Mid-American Conference title last month Plitt began to more seriously consider his options.
