CARMEL, Ind. -- Michael Makris birdied three of his first five holes Monday and went on to make nine of them on the day, the second-most of any player in the field through 36 holes at the Crooked Stick Invitational.
Makris led the Ball State men's golf team with rounds of 74 and 70 on the opening day of the event. He is tied for 13th place at even par among a strong field at Crooked Stick Golf Club.
The Cardinals are ninth out of 12 teams at 591 (+15) with one round yet to play.
