CLEVELAND — Ball State fell just short of its first NCAA Tournament bid since 2009, falling to Buffalo 79-75 in the Mid-American Conference Championship game.
The Cardinals came into the tournament as the No. 5 seed while Buffalo came in as the No. 2 seed. No No. 5 seed had ever won the MAC Tournament, but Ball State came just short of becoming the first.
The loss brings Ball State's record to 20-12 on the season. Now, it will wait to see if it will get an opportunity to play in the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
