CLEVELAND — In the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament, No. 6 Ball State (14-17, 9-10 MAC) was the same team it had been all season.
It was good in spurts, particularly early when it appeared to be the aggressor on offense and led No. 3 Ohio (24-8, 14-6 MAC) as a result. It was bad in others, scoring just five points over the course of nine minutes in the first half. It was worse in others, never finding the right adjustments or answers for a more experienced and talented team.
Ball State lost to Ohio, 77-67, ending its 2021-22 campaign with a loss in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament.
