YORKTOWN, Ind. — Luke Hill finally got his chance a few weeks into his junior season. The second baseman had studied two Division-I infielders, Cole Barr (Indiana) and Clay Dungan (Indiana State) who were ahead of him at Yorktown, waiting his turn and trying to soak up as much knowledge as he could. In his first career start at Muncie Central last year, he ripped a triple down the left field. But he slid headfirst into third and broke his hand, missing the rest of the season.
So as a senior, Hill has tried to make the most of everything, even through several slumps.
