CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Lucas Andersen of the Ball State men's tennis team earned Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Andersen opened the 2017 spring season with a strong start at the No. 1 singles position. He ended the three-match weekend with a 2-1 ledger but could have easily went 3-0. On Friday, Andersen put up a good fight over the No. 27 player in the country, Notre Dame's Josh Hagar. After capturing the first set 6-4 from Hagar, he went on to nearly defeat Hagar in the second set but lost 7-6 (7-5).
