MUNCIE, Ind. — Men's basketball coach Michael Lewis signed a memorandum of understanding with Ball State on March 25, 2022, the day it was announced Lewis would become the Cardinals' 20th coach in program history.
The Star Press acquired a copy of the MOU, a binding agreement signed by Lewis and Ball State President Geoffrey Mearns, which will be superseded by an official employment agreement, which is subject to approval by the Ball State University Board of Trustees.

The MOU will keep Lewis in Muncie for six seasons, through March 31, 2028 (or a day after the last game of the 2027-28 season).
