The Munciana Lorax won a national title Monday in Orlando at the 46th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships.
The Lorax, coached by New Castle’s Sarah Roush, went 11-0 in the tournament while competing in the 15 Open division. Burris’ Abigail Kesler and Rory Powers, the latter named a 2019 AAU All-American, are both on the team.
The Munciana Samurai, Quora, Pandas, Chipmunks and Peppers have all competed at nationals, too, although the Samurai and Quora competed at the 2019 AAU Girls' 18U May Junior National Volleyball Championships.
The Samurai placed third in the 18 Open division with New Castle’s Melani Shaffmaster and Yorktown’s Kylie Murr each earning All-American honors.
