Lembo leaving Ball State for Maryland

According to a report from FOX Sports, Ball State head coach Pete Lembo has resigned to take an assistant coaching position at Maryland.

Last season, Ball State finished 3-9 (2-6 Mid-American Conference), the worst of five seasons during Lembo's tenure. The Cardinals were 33-29 (23-17 MAC) during that time.

Lembo’s pay jumped up to $514,250 in 2015, from $500,000 last year, according to a recent USA Today survey. Lembo was the fourth-highest paid coach in the Mid-American Conference this year behind P.J. Fleck at Western Michigan, Frank Solich at Ohio and John Bonamego at Central Michigan.
