Late Comeback Attempt Falls Short for Cardinals in Season Opener

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Ball State men's basketball team made a late comeback effort from an 11-point deficit but ultimately fell 71-66 to Georgia State on Monday night at the GSU Convocation Center.

The Cardinals trailed 58-47 with 8:04 to play before an 8-0 Ball State run in the span of 65 seconds highlighted by six points from junior guard cut the deficit to three points. Georgia State wouldn't allow the visitors to get closer than that margin the rest of the way in the season opener.
