YORKTOWN, Ind. — Austin Stout knew Jacob Pruitt was going to be a special baseball player; he just might not have realized how quickly Pruitt was going to get there.
In the summer of 2019, Pruitt, who verbally committed to Indiana State on Aug. 4, was throwing around 78-79 miles per hour. When he showed up for workouts in January, well, that was no longer the case.
Throughout the winter, Pruitt said he worked out to improve his strength, velocity and accuracy. And when Stout, the director of player development for the Indiana Prospects, put him on the mound, he almost couldn't believe what he saw.
