Indiana cornerback Christopher Keys is out for the season with an ACL tear, IU coach Tom Allen said at his news conference Monday.
Keys stepped up into the third cornerback position for IU because of an injury to fellow cornerback Jaylin Williams in IU's first game against Iowa, but suffered the injury in the Hoosiers' win over Idaho on Saturday. The 6-foot, 185-pounder from Collins, Miss., had impressed coaches with his length and his speed and the Hoosiers considered him a future starter at the position.
Insider:Idaho was a free pass. But IU's winning formula — for now — is clear: Rely on defense.
